A website that opens like furniture

For the Trnava-based company RM design, we created a presentation website where motion is not an added effect. It comes directly from the client’s product: precise lines, symmetry, doors, joints and the space that is revealed only when the furniture opens.

The website guides visitors from the first furniture-opening interaction through the work categories, interior details, the production process and materials to cooperation with architects and direct contact. The finished installation and upcoming concepts are clearly distinguished.

Into the solution

We built the motion around what RM design makes

The client wanted simple, elegant lines based on symmetry. We did not turn that request into static graphics only — it became the basis of how the whole website behaves. It shows most clearly right on the opening screen.

01 / 04 Opening screen

First the wardrobe. Then the space behind it.

The first view feels like a closed furniture wall. As the visitor scrolls, the composition changes: additional panels appear, the centre begins to open and a bright room is finally revealed behind the doors.

The transition from closed to open is a 48⁠-⁠frame scroll-controlled sequence. The visitor is not watching an animation that plays by itself — they control the opening through their own movement down the page.

What it brings

The first contact with the website shows the principle of RM design’s product straight away: furniture is part of the space and its detail is revealed through use.

02 / 04 Motion system

One motion language across the whole site

The opening on the first screen is not a lone effect. The same principle continues: images reveal from the central axis, elements respond to scroll, and motion is part of each section’s composition.

In the “Otvorte zvnútra” block the visitor opens a wardrobe and reaches what cannot be seen from outside — concealed hinges, soft-close hardware and LED lighting.

The “Od návrhu po montáž” process also works with one continuous vertical axis. Its five steps — consultation, measuring, design and visualization, production and installation — are therefore not just a list of services. Visually they form one continuous process.

The interactions do not explain the website’s technology. They help explain how the joinery studio itself works.

03 / 04 Materials

Material and detail instead of generic icons

RM design works with board materials, veneer, solid surface and hardware. So we did not want to shrink them into small pictograms on the website.

DTDL, MDFL, oak, beech, walnut, ash, Corian®, Kerrock®, HI-MACS® and Blum hardware each got their own space and a close-up.

The project archive works the same way. Its current content clearly separates the finished installation from upcoming concepts and visualizations, so the visitor always knows what they are looking at.

The website can present work in progress without passing it off as photographs of finished installations.

04 / 04 Architects

For a private client and for an architect

A private client can start with RM design from consultation and measuring. An architect or designer can bring a finished design that the studio prices and manufactures.

So the website does not communicate finished furniture alone. It also shows the production process, the materials and the ability to take a project on from the design stage or to join a solution that is already prepared.

What it brings

An architect with a finished design and a private client without one each find their own path on the site and a direct line to the studio.
